The Weekly Cycle
Asaph works in three steps: find songs, create set lists, gather feedback. Each week, insights from feedback help you find better songs, completing the cycle.
The next steps walk you through your first cycle.
Step 2: Add 10 Songs (Minimum Recommendation)
Add at least 10 songs to your library. This is the minimum recommendation to get meaningful results from AI-generated sets.
Add from Asaph's Library
The fastest way to get started:
Click Add Songs from the Getting Started section on your home page
Search by city, denomination, or browse available songs
Select at least 10 songs (you can select as many as you like)
Click Add to Songs
Start with 10, grow from there: While 10 is the minimum recommendation, adding 20-30 songs gives you even better AI results and more variety.
Other ways to add songs: You can also import from Planning Center or add custom songs not in Asaph's library.
Time: 1 minute
Step 3: Create Your First Set List
Generate with AI or craft it yourself. Use insights from scripture, themes, and feedback.
Create Your Set List
Click Create Set List from the Getting Started section on your home page
Choose how to build it:
Generate with AI:
Choose your input method:
Bible Passage: Enter a reference like "Psalm 23" or "Romans 8:1-11"
Keywords/Themes: Enter themes like "grace," "hope," or "salvation"
Choose how many songs you want (typically 4-6)
Click Generate
The AI analyzes your library for theological alignment, rotation patterns, and energy flow
Craft Manually:
Click Select Songs
Add songs from your library
Review and Edit
Whether AI-generated or manual, you can:
Preview set list analysis
Swap out songs
Reorder for better flow
Lock songs in place that you're happy with
Regenerate with AI for different options
Save your set list
Time: 2 minutes
Step 4: Give Feedback (Complete the Weekly Cycle)
Complete your first weekly cycle by giving feedback on your set list. Feedback is always anonymous, so you can be honest about what worked and what didn't.
Give Your First Feedback
Open your set list
Click Give Feedback
Share honest responses about each song
Submit your feedback
Your feedback starts building insights for your church. As you add team members later, their anonymous feedback will add to this data, helping you understand what's connecting over time.

Monitor trends to understand what's connecting

Common First Questions
How do I log in again?
Go to app.asaph.io and enter your email. You'll get a fresh one-time code via email each time.
Why do I need to add 10 songs minimum?
The AI needs enough songs to generate meaningful set lists with variety. With fewer than 10 songs, you'll get limited results.
Can I edit AI-generated set lists?
Yes. The AI gives you a starting point. You have full control to edit, reorder, or replace songs.
What if I don't have Planning Center?
No problem. You can use Asaph completely independently. Add songs from Asaph's library or create custom entries.
How does church context help?
Your denomination, city, and church details help Asaph show you songs that work for churches contextually similar to yours.
